My work is all about the ever changing light in the landscape.

Seascape painting ‘Sea Storm’
Landscape painting ‘Sea Storm’, acrylic on paper (27 x 25.5 cms). This is from a series of recent seascapes with an abstract feel and slightly textured graphic style concentrating on the unique light that the meeting of sea and sky brings and it’s effect on the clouds and landscape below.

My new painting ‘Ochre Sunset’, an acrylic painting of a hazy Autumn sunset with yellow and pink clouds in the sky, rich colour on the horizon and dark shadows in the green landscape.

New landscape painting ‘Twilight Ebb’, acrylic on stretched canvas (60 x 60 cms). Capturing the light at the end of day I painted this during the summer months when we did have some good weather.

New ‘Autumn Twilight’ series on wood and canvas. I painted these after the recent hot spell gave way to the rush of darker and cooler evenings and spells of rain that ushered in Autumn.

New painting ‘Whispering Dawn’ I painted this after waking early one morning and seeing how quietly the dawn evolved.
Its a 76x50cms stretched canvas with softer brushstrokes and blended colours to reflect the silence and serenity of the break of day.
Spellbound Evening by Mary Burtenshaw
An impressionist landscape painting entitled ‘Spellbound Evening’ based on a recent sunset. it was unforgettable how slowly the sunset arrived but also how slowly how it hung in the sky for a couple of hours……just mesmerising.
