Today’s landscape painting is ‘Sunset Wisp’.

This is a perfect size for any space……

This painting ‘Sunset Wisp’ was inspired by a brief moment when the sun shone through the breeze blown clouds just temporarily brightening the sky.

The blended sky with very few brushstrokes gave just the right amount of light and atmosphere. The blending of the sky was just a few colours, grey, ochre, burnt umber and a little touch of white.

The foreground was just a few colours too including one of my favourites, hooker’s green deep hue which with just a touch gives great shadows on the landscape.

I was intentionally getting away from my usual vivid sunrise and sunset colours to get out of my comfort zone.

I really enjoyed painting this little glowing gem on the horizon.
