Today’s landscape painting is ‘Autumn Sunset’ and has been sold, but I always like to look at it again as the abstract quality is really something I like.

Looking back I particularly like the confident brushstrokes of the peachy orange colours. There are very few detailed brushstrokes on the horizon but that makes it all the more effective and gives that impression of a sunset.

The yellow is quite vivid but I think pulls the whole painting together.

I guess it is strange that a favourite painting can never be replicated but it is good that two paintings can be very similar but almost impossible that they are the same.

Sometimes if a painting has been sold a customer asks for something the same but I know that will never be possible as the creativity and spontaneity is never the same.
