‘Drifting Sunset’

‘Drifting Sunset’ is the latest in my small landscape painting new series, a collection of sunrises and sunsets concentrating on the ever changing light those times of day bring.

This painting has a very calming feel to it perhaps something I was trying to do myself at the time.

If you are familiar with my work you will know that I am always drawn to those colours at the warmer spectrum of sunset and sunrise.

‘Drifting Sunset’ was painted with a selection of different brushes and it took a while to get it right. Perhaps I was not in the right ‘zone’ and trying to do something new. Finally it came right and its a bit abstract and a bit impressionist with a little bit of detail on the focal point on the horizon.

It never ceases to be a surprise how different colours create different combinations of light and tone.
