I love this time of year when you start seeing all the colours of Springtime whether its the daffodils or the beautiful magnolia.

This latest acrylic landscape painting ‘Springtime Blush’ is another thing I love at this time of year, the impressive sunsets. The sun is lower in the sky and the gentle decline as it sets on a clear day with the rich colours of Spring in the background is so stunning with warmer colours and longer shadows.

My recent paintings have been slightly less abstract and more impressionist with more blended brushstrokes and just a few detailed touches on the horizon capturing that beautiful light.

I really like the colour palette with the blushes of colour in the sky and the touches of ochre and pink, and the sky has fewer brushstrokes deliberately to emphasise the glow on the horizon.

Springtime colours and longer days to look forward to.
