This small landscape painting was inspired by the North Downs with its beautiful vista and the varied green tones of the rolling hills.

The darker landscape tones of purple and green and the blues of the sky both touch the horizon and blend together in the enveloping rolling mist.

The wispy clouds gently cascade across the sky with all the different blues ever moving and changing.

‘Rolling Mist’ was painted with fewer brushstrokes but more deliberate ones, something I have been intentionally doing recently to give real movement to my paintings.

I love the finer detail of light on the horizon and the touches of grey in the foreground coupled with the reflection from the sky.
