Introducing the next in my new collection ‘Wistful Aurora’.

‘Wistful Aurora’

I enjoyed painting ‘Wistful Aurora’ inspired by the glow you get from the lower light in early Autumn on distant fields.

I used larger brushstrokes for the sky especially the lighter blue. There is a lovely glow on the horizon with shadows on the hillsides and reflections of light in the foreground. This was achieved using smaller brushes for detail and then blending with larger brushes.

The sky has faint glimmers of light shining through and the touches of blue on the horizon seem to bring the land and the sky together linking light and shadow.

Brushstrokes seem to change the texture is every painting.
