The perfect touch: how this new abstract landscape painting ‘Evening Rain’ will enhance any room.

‘Evening Rain’ - Acrylic on paper - 19.5 × 19.5 cms

This small painting was painted on a rather misty and rainy evening. I used lots of blended brushstrokes.

I love the sky in this painting with the clouds and gorgeous strokes of blue on the horizon.

As ‘Evening Rain’ was painted on paper it had to be completed fairly quickly which is why more blending worked. There are some layers particularly in the grey and blue tones and the ochre and green.

I think the vivid green gives it more mood particularly with the touches of white.

The clouds are made up of many colours quickly blended.

This would work really well as a bigger painting as you can see in situ, but it’s the spontaneity that makes it work.
