‘Still Evening’, a stunning impressionist landscape painting capturing the last light of the day.
This impressionist landscape painting was inspired by a trip to the Yorkshire Moors whilst looking into family history. I really fell for the beautiful landscape and the colours of the heathers.
Driving back through the Moors at the beginning of one evening the light was fading through the trees and gorse with touches of reddish brown on the horizon.
The sky had clouds of peachy pink slowly dancing on the horizon and softer ones higher in the sky creating a very moody feel and a stillness just before sunset, with light just fading on the ground.
