My new acrylic landscape painting ‘Twilight Tango’.

This small and very abstract painting on paper is one of my more spontaneous paintings with lots of brushstrokes particularly in the sky.

I love the touches of orange and ochre on the horizon and the vivid green just below. The blue and purple brushstrokes on either side pull the whole painting together. Some of the brushstrokes are just one deliberate movement in order to create texture in the painting, particularly in the blues in the sky. Other brushstrokes going upward give a real sense of movement.

The title reflected the brushstrokes dancing together to create a beautiful sunset.
