New painting ‘Broody Skies’

‘Broody Skies’’

Acrylic on canvas - 22 x 21 cms

An acrylic painting of a landscape with a blue sky and dark grey clouds above a dark shadowy countryside with a hint of light on the horizon.

Its that moment when it feels that somewhere close it is starting to rain as the rainclouds mass and rush quickly across the sky and the shaft of light from the horizon creates strong long shadows on the ground.

It portrays the effect that a change in the clouds in the sky can create on the light and shadows on the landscape below.

My Style

This small painting on canvas was painted with one of my biggest brushes to create the drama of the title.

It’s one of my favourites, dark and moody to recreate those broody skies.

I really like the impact of the light blue which separates but also brings together the dark shadows of the landscape and the brooding sky.
