New painting: ‘Blue Twilight’.
‘Blue Twilight’ is a 23 x 22 cm acrylic on canvas with spontaneous brushstrokes in the touches of orange and white.
The strokes of blue give a cold feel with shafts of light in the sky and muted tones creating the atmosphere of the end of the day.
I brought the blue right down on to the foreground to create the mood and atmosphere of that time of day.
Sometimes simplifying brushstrokes can be really effective and in this case created a calm, peaceful and serene scene as the light disappeared over the horizon.
