Exploring the beauty of abstract landscape paintings with bold brushstrokes.

My smaller spontaneous work is more abstract where I let the bold brushstrokes and colour flow.

Sometimes the smaller they are the more spontaneous they can be, blending a limited palette creating light and depth, in this case with the blue tones.

Sometimes it’s interesting to paint colours that seemingly should not go together.

Whilst i am always drawn to painting the colours of sunrises and sunsets I do find that blues and greys tones can be calmer and more moody, accentuating the light.

‘That moment where the light on the horizon seems to hold the clouds in the air’…… ‘Distant Clouds’ (23 x 23 cms) one of my spontaneous abstract paintings from my ‘Affordable Art’ page.
