Another of my favourite landscape paintings ‘Dawn Breeze’.

This favourite painting ‘Dawn Breeze’ is probably one of my most abstract with all the spontaneous brushstrokes I love to use. It just seemed to work straight away without the need to have a ‘journey’ which some paintings do. I love the way the in situ captures the colours of the yellow flowers and the yellows in the painting.

The lighter strokes of blue seem to pull the painting together giving that impression of light and warmth that is about to come with the dawn.

The darker clouds in the background almost give the impression that a storm is coming but in reality its just the last of the night sky disappearing to reveal the coming day.

The small brushstrokes of yellow on the horizon also really reflect the advance of the daylight.

This will always be a favourite.
