A splash of colour. My new small spontaneous sunset painting - ‘Wistful Evening’.

‘Wistful Evening’ is a very spontaneous mini sunset study capturing the essence of sunset colours, mood and light. I intentionally zoned in to catch that one moment in time when the last glimmer of the day starts to disappear.

The strokes of burgundy colour capture the atmosphere of the early evening light with the smallest of touches of red and yellow.

It’s a limited palette but its given me some ideas for a larger canvas.
