This landscape painting for sale ‘Sunlit Glow’ is of sunlit fields where the light is cascading down creating lots shadows in the foreground.
The sky has a lot of movement and depth as the light rises and the clouds respond to a new day.
I am usually drawn to the colours of a sunset or sunrise with warm pinks, orange and peach so this was a change to capture early morning light in a different but equally vivid way.
It’s good to step out of your comfort zone from time to time.
I love the touches of turquoise and pale blue on either side pulling the sky and foreground together.

I still wanted to have a touch of dark in the foreground showing that the daylight is still emerging.
The light in the sky is quite powerful falling down on to the landscape below.
This was quite spontaneous with an abstract feel rather than the blended impressionist style typical of my larger canvases.
A change but a very enjoyable one.
